The year of the Tiger so far has been… the year of the Tiger
Personally and globally, the year of the Tiger so far has been… the year of the Tiger.
How I am responding… (note they are responses, not solutions. I will comment more about “solutions” below):
Staying aqueous: time by the sea, hydrating soups and infusions, house-made facial creams, baths and more baths. Water relationships!
Frequent whole-body (including my aura) scans, and meeting myself where I need, in the ways I need. This is part of what being honest means.
Deep stillness. The shakier things get, the stiller I must be.
Deep listening. Listening to the voices of chaos, pain, collective confusion, and even that bitch called Covid (don’t worry, she said I can call her that. We’re on intimate terms.) Not offering opinions when I listen. Not offering solutions. Simply being in company with the voices. When we meet, we recognize each other. There is clarity.
And this “being with-ness” — sitting still and listening — has reminded me how I can stay embodied and foundational. A few months ago, when I was writing and looking into 2022, the spirits were already responding to my needs, to our needs. I can’t even really say I created this upcoming animist series (titled Prayers + Devotions in Animism Series) because at this point it would be like me saying I wrote a beautiful love letter to you when all I am is the postal carrier. The spirits are thinking of us; they have been all along. When we dare to / remember to meet with them, we discover that we really do recognize each other. And deeply meaningful, undeniably real conversations are shared when we encounter them.
The animist series is a multi-week regenerating pathway to re-approach and restore intimacy with ourselves and the Unseen. It’s a “being” and “being with” sort of series rather than a “doing” one. This is because part of the colonialistic perspective (which pervades even new age spirituality) is so focused on “doing” and offering “solutions” when maybe it’s the constant solutions that is the problem. Solutions ydenote a certain tone of superiority, or that we know what we are doing, and I think the most honest self-assessment is that none of us actually do. Animism’s response (not a single-prong solution, but an open-ended response that is deeply personal and contextual), is to relate again with Mystery.
Anyway, Prayers + Devotions in Animism begins April 4, with $400 off early bird savings on sliding scale tuition until March 6 (this Sunday!). Folks enrolled in this series also get a very special perk which I will be announcing in March’s newsletter. If you’re in need of financial assistance, Partial Scholarships are now currently available (though not sure for how long); send me an email to info@shopceremonie.com.
