Simple Ways to (Re)Connect to the Unseen this Season
Quiet as an Ally
Spending time in / with Solitude and Quietude is an effective way to slow down, do "nothing", and be. No need to engage in receiving messages from spirits or inner reflection. We often see Quiet as a place we pass enroute somewhere, but in this practice, Quiet is the destination.
Darkness and the Element of Fire
If you have access to an open fire outdoors, a fireplace, or even a candle or two, spend time with the Dark, and with Fire. It helps to also be Quiet as you let yourself notice how the aspects of Yin and Yang play and invite you to soften your gaze and tune into your subtle perceptions.
Shifting Forms with a Loved One
Sit with a friend, a lover, a child, or a family member, and share presence with the Dark and the element of Fire. In a diffused state, perceive with all your senses, taking turns to witness each other, and allow the impressions fade in and out. The different faces and forms can be seen as the different aspects we each hold within, and to recognize each other in these places. Describe / name these with each other; see what flows out of this witnessing.
Eyes Closed and the Element of Fire
Engage with caution and safety, and spend intermittent short periods (2 or so mins at a time) with your eyes closed, but sensing the element of Fire through a candle or two. Notice how light and shadow still dance without your eyes open. I find this method to be an effective way to scry, that is, divinating through the forms that show up via the shadows cast on our closed eyelids, taking in the shapes and impressions, and making meaning.
Gathering with Others to Honour the Beloved Dead
I also wanted to share that it's one more sleep until LOVED ONES FROM THE OTHERSIDE: A SAMHAIN E-GATHERING

A live-stream Samhain / Honouring of the Dead gathering of spirit connection, channeled group messages, and guided group journey work to remember and reconnect with the old ones and departed loved ones, and return to our Source.
