Animism is not Anthropomorphism
Animism is not anthropomorphism, where we attach human traits, feelings, priorities, or actions to non-human entities, or to extend this thought, animism is not where we affix our own desires onto others, in other words, trying to control others to be just like us.
Assigning human features to something non-human does not make it animism, instead, animism compels us to admit what we do not know, and instead, the practice asks us to ask “Tell me about yourself”. To say “Let me tell you about yourself” is the very opposite of animism.
Another example is when a man tells a woman how a woman should be. The very opposite of respect.
And this is the case for anyone who is in the unlearning process towards animacy, where the perspective asks us to release our attachments, biases, and dogmas.
