An Online Retreat on Ancient Chinese Divination and Chinese Astrology

If you've been studying with me in the Mystery Mentorship, particularly in the Wood + Metal Module, you'll know that a critique I have about the "new age" communities that most practices done in the West are still coming from that extractive theme of objectifying rather subjectifying. Whether it's the studying of Tarot, tea leaf reading, dream work or even astrology, the main objective is "what's in it for me / tell me what I need to know / how I do manifest the life that I want". Put it another way, learning esoteric practices, accessing ancient wisdom is not meant to function as your genie. It is not meant to be, nor can it ever truly be, colonized. The Unseen, the Great Mystery were around far before any of us arrived on the scene. ⁣⁣

Instead, I welcome you to step into subjectifying - that is, seeing these energies as beings. As subjects in the narrative. When they are the characters, and they invite you to walk alongside them, you will never be the same again - you will be in relationship. And not the form of the buzzword (the way the word 'community' has become cheapened into a buzzword), but in the sense of falling in love, of experiencing intimacy. Of being known, and knowing. ⁣⁣

On Sunday, September 19, I will be hosting an all-day online retreat, UNDER AN ANCIENT SKY: An Online Retreat on Chinese Divination + Astrology. We will spend time with the ancient 12 Animal Archetypes, learn a few of their dances (some are called Ascendants, and Elemental Cycles), and will also engage in a hands-on DIY activity of making our own Bwa Bwei (Bway), an ancient Taiwanese divination tool that is most often used to consult ancestors. Sitting with Tea as our Teacher, you are invited into a portal of ancient learning that holds and predates Daoist tradition. Receive an in-depth foundation of Chinese Astrology including how your sign is influenced by Yin and Yang, and by the influencing elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, or Water. Make sense of the element ruling a lunar sign, as well as the rising, in both your personal life or as patterns in the collective.
